About the Artist

I'm a gal with a story. In January 2017, I lost my job and decided after almost 20 years of working in medical offices, It was time for me.  If I was going to pursue my arts...now was the time.  My son was graduating high school in a year and with unemployment for a few months, it was finally my chance to see what I could do.  I'd always been a writer and photographer, but once I found alcohol inks, I couldn't think about anything else.  I spent the next few months learning about them from Pinterest and YouTube.

Over the next 5 years, I had the chance teach the inks I taught myself, in galleries, lounges, and libraries all over western New York.  In between, I also got to work at a chicken BBQ for a local campground and listened to the rafters when they got back from their trip while I filled their bellies with my BBQ.  Luck was also on my side, while I apprenticed at "Art of Fire" in Chaumont for a summer and learned how to blow glass.  In 2019, a part-time job at a local custom frame shop landed in my lap and I've been working there ever since, while I teach my alcohol inks and continue to grow in my artwork. (I'm long-winded and this was originally 8 paragraphs long, so I erased it all and paraphrased.  I think you get the idea, though. lol)
